Damian Lillard has spent his entire NBA career with the Trailblazers since getting drafted by them in 2012. Over the last few years, there’s been trade rumors but has maintained his stance that he wants to stay in Portland and win there.
Yahoo’s Chris Hayes recently had Lillard on his Posted Up Podcast and discussed why he wants to stay in Portland and not win a championship elsewhere. Lillard emphasized how strong of a relationship he has with his teammates.
Lillard also thinks that if he somehow demanded a trade, it’d ruin things for his teammates as well as he thinks they’d be traded as well. He truly cares about the careers of his teammates and not just if he’ll ever win a ring.
The Blazers currently stand at 34-23 and fourth in the Western Conference. They’ve been a solid playoff team for the last couple years but just haven’t been able to get past that hump once they make the postseason. Dame is currently averaging 26 points, six assists, and four rebounds per game this season.
