Did Zion Williamson’s Injury Prompt the NBA to Send a Proposal to Lower Draft Eligible Age Limit? Here is the NBA’s New Proposal

Zion Williamson is the best player in college basketball and one of the most popular athletes in all of the country. So when someone of his caliber gets hurt in the midst of an amateurism argument among college athletes AND in arguably the best rivalry game in all of sports, the NBA is going to do something about it.

That they did and they did it rather quickly.

Not even 24 hours after we all saw Zion Williamson blow through Paul George’s signature shoe and hurting his knee in the process, the NBA proposed a rule change to the NBA Players Association. To end the one and done rule to pave the way for high school players to enter the NBA Draft without setting one foot on a college basketball court.

This proposed rule change comes with plenty support from others who view top high school basketball talent having to play college basketball as unnecessary. Zion’s injury is one crucial example of getting these elite talents to the league before any type of severe injury derails them.

I for one encourage this rule change simply because of how unnecessary the one and done rule was in the first place. What’s the point of sending these players to college for one year? To get extra looks at them against players they’ll probably embarrass anyways? It’s an unreasonable rule and I’m glad the charge is starting to seriously gain traction.

And miss me with that crap of “they’re getting a free ride, blah blah blah”. Those kids are getting a free ride from schools who exploit their talent and likeness for money, falling right under the corrupt idiocy of the NCAA.

Get these kids to the league and let them get their money so their own families can be taken care of.
