Doug Williams Speaks on The Redskins Desperately Needing a QB; Why Daniel Snyder Would Likely Block a Kaepernick Signing

Last year didn’t go as the Washington Redskins envisioned. After trading for Alex Smith in the off-season, playoffs were the expectation.

Unfortunately, Smith’s season ended Week 11 and things went downhill from that point on. His wife, Elizabeth Smith, posted a photo of them together and its clear Alex is nowhere near ready.

Senior VP of player personnel Doug Williams understands the team must seek other options.

“It’s our job in the personnel department to find somebody who can play,” Williams said. “Thank God we have Colt coming back from an injury. We just gotta find somebody to mix in there and we know we gotta have that guy, but we gotta build around whoever it is. I think that’s the most important thing.”

Now, with Colin Kaepernick reaching a settlement with the NFL, many are speculating if this means we’ll see him back on the gridiron.

Considering the Redskins quarterback situation, it would make sense to take a chance on Kaepernick. Smith may never be the same and Colt McCoy isn’t necessarily going to light the world on fire.

Nonetheless, this is unlikely to happen due to Owner Daniel Snyder’s relationship with Donald Trump.
