Drake’s father Dennis Graham has always been loved as his son is the biggest artist in the game right now. He’s bringing some controversy to himself now though as in a recent interview with Variety, he’s voicing his support for R. Kelly and Jussie Smollett.
Graham started off by saying both Kelly and Smollett are very close friends of his. As far as Kelly goes, he’s not happy that this situation is happening to him. Kelly is facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse charges towards four underage girls. He recently posted $100,000 bail to pay off 10% of his $1 million bond. Graham is victim blaming as he is saying women are just now coming out after all of these years.
“He’s a good friend of mine. I wish him the best. I hate that it’s happening to him,” Graham said. “There’s a reason why women come out after the fact. He has my support 100 percent.”
Graham also has a hard time believing that Smollett staged his own hate crime attack. Smollett is facing a felony charge after filing a false police report and could face 10 years in prison. Graham thinks people are twisting the story around and he didn’t commit this crime at all.
“Jussie has been misunderstood. As a matter of fact, they know that,” said Graham. “That story that came out about Jussie in Chicago is not true about Jussie. Jussie is a friend of mine, also. They have totally reconstructed his story.”
Graham will obviously face backlash for both of these comments. R. Kelly has proved to be a monster for three decades. As far as Smollett, it seems like it will be a while before we really know the truth about what really went down in Chicago.
