It’s been a rough go for LeBron James and Lakers this season.
At 29-31, 11th in the Western Conference playoff picture, things are looking bleak for the Lake Show to make the playoffs.
Among the injuries, failed trades, and questions about the the team’s sense of urgency; any and everything is psychoanalyzed as to why the Lakers are struggling right now.
Now we can add to the list the daily whereabouts of LeBron James as a distraction and factor causing the Lakers struggles.
Its officially silly season for the Los Angeles Lakers.
During shoot around today, as the Lakers prepare to play the Pelicans tonight in LA (the irony), James had to shut down a report that he was in the studio for a late night music session with rapper 2 Chainz prior to a recent game against the Warriors in which he sat out due to ‘load management’.
James said, he and Draymond Green were in 2 Chainz studio in Los Angeles around the time of the Lakers’ Jan. 21 game against the Warriors in LA, not Feb. 1st, which was the night before the game in Oakland.
This according to Tania Ganguli of the LA Times.
Oh boy.
James recently announced that he is part of the A&R team for 2 Chainz upcoming album, “Rap Or Go To The League”.
Along with the announcement of Space Jam 2 coming in July 2021 and his latest episode of his hit show ‘The Shop’ (featuring among others Anthony Davis) one could say, LeBron is a little distracted himself.
He recently commented on the idea that if a player can’t handle distractions, especially playing for the Lakers, said player may need to find somewhere else to play.
In a season full of drama for TinselTown, you can now add LeBron doing music with 2 Chainz as a reason, the three-time NBA Champion may miss the playoffs for the first time in 14 seasons.
