LeBron Has a Prediction For Year 2 of His Lakers Tenure (Video)

Lakers’ superstar, LeBron James took to Instagram to ensure Laker Nation that the team’s misfortune of missing the playoffs would soon come to an end.

In a post, James promises “the spell won’t last much longer.”

When LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 1st of 2018, it seemed like a sure thing that the Lakers would end their 5 year playoff drought. But with the Lakeshow having been officially eliminated Friday night after a loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the drought continues.

Although it was a disappointing first year for James in the purple and gold, he still put up quality stats – averaging 27-8-8, but injuries killed their season.

In a beat down of the Golden State Warriors on Christmas night, the team was in 4th place in the haunted Western Conference, but then received all the bad breaks they could’ve possibly could’ve.

James went down with a groin tear that cost him 18 games – in which the team went 6-11, and Rajon Rondo also went down for an extended period of time. That was followed by a season-ending ankle injury for Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram with a season-ending blood clot scare.

Although they weren’t the most talented team in the league, James is known to be able to uplift mediocre talent to deep playoff runs – and that was expected of him to do so with this Lakers team. That didn’t happen this year.

It’ll be interesting to see how that impacts them in free agency this summer, if at all, and how they reshape the roster for next season.
