The 2019 NBA draft is loaded with talents such as Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett, but Ja Morant has been ramping up the noise, putting the basketball world on notice with a big game vs Marquette in a blowout win in round one.
Morant has been dominant all year, averaging nearly 25-10-5, leading Murray State to a 12th seed in the big dance as a mid-major. In the upset victory in round one, Morant put up a triple double (17-16-11), the first triple double in the NCAA tournament since Draymond Green did it in 2012, according to Bleacher Report.
New York Times NBA insider, Marc Stein joined the Morant hype party – stating a source had all but confirmed Morant would be a top 2 pick in the upcoming draft.
