The Cleveland Browns showed potential last season and are starting off this year’s free agency strong.
After signing New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon, the Browns sign Vikings free agent defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson to a three year deal per Adam Schefter. The line consists of Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi, Vernon and Richardson which, on paper, is a supreme defensive line.
The Browns can easily be favorites in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers losing their go-to receiver Antonio Brown and on the verge of losing Le’Veon Bell and Cincinnati Bengals who have an injury plagued quarterback and new coach . The only team that may put up a fight is the Baltimore Ravens with Lamar Jackson who showed enough promise last season for them to let their veteran quarterback Joe Flacco go.
Last season, Richardson had 4.5 sacks and 26 solo tackles. In his five-year career, he has 19.5 sacks, 173 tackles, six fumbles and one interception.
Look how Browns fans and rival fans react to the addition to the already alarming defense.
