The Chiefs signed Tyrann Mathieu on Tuesday, opening up the gates for a release of 5 time Pro Bowl Safety Eric Berry. Berry has been a mainstay on the Chiefs defense ever since he was drafted there in 2010. He was absolutely loved by Chiefs fans, but with a salary of $7.25M GTD for a player who has played just 3 games the last 2 years, something had to be done.
