He shouldn’t have been charged in the first place.
Michael Bennett’s felony charge, connected to an incident on the field after the Patriots won Super Bowl 51, has been dropped. The charge came from a claim from an elderly paraplegic who says Bennett pushed her down trying to gain access to the field. Though no video proof was released to the public, Bennett was charged anyways with a third degree felony.
In a statement, the DA’s office said some things that just makes you scream “Yeah right”.
A spokesperson for the district attorney’s office told the newspaper that they decided to dismiss the charges against Bennett after reviewing additional evidence. via SI
Yeah sureee, “additional evidence”.
Translation: We can’t find any other reason to continue this ludicrous investigation.
Doesn’t matter now though. The charge is dropped and Michael Bennett can go on with his career without any unfair distraction.
The New England Patriots acquired Michael Bennett from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a swap of draft picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.
