Jon Robinson has a big decision in his hands tonight.
The Tennessee Titans are picking at 19 overall and playing as hosts to the NFL Draft with some important needs to fill. The needs for the Titans are pretty simple in nature as you’d imagine. They need another EDGE rusher to compliment second year player Harold Landry due to the departures of Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan. Should be no problem doing that as the EDGE talent in this draft class is deep.
Other needs to dwell on?
Well the Titans need a guard to further protect quarterback Marcus Mariota like Chris Lindstrom out of Boston College or Garrett Bradbury out of NC State. Or maybe even another wide receiver, like Marquise Brown or maybe even DK Metcalf, to compliment Corey Davis?
Robinson has plenty of options.
And not a lot of time left to make a decision.
One road Robinson can go is a road that we wouldn’t think the Titans would go down until next year at the earliest. If you may have missed it, yesterday Daniel Jeremiah tweeted out some interesting news about the Titans and their interest in Drew Lock.
What I've heard in last 24 hours:
Redskins moving up for Haskins
Redskins moving up for Jones
Giants moving up for Lock
Giants taking Jones at 17
Titans taking Lock
Bengals taking Haskins
Bengals not taking QB

This was pretty surprising, especially with comments Lock made about the Titans yesterday on 3HL, a local Nashville radio station.
We talked with Drew Lock today and asked him about the Titans. He said he met with them twice. Here are the details of that conversation: https://t.co/RBCY3Zg0WW https://t.co/CNXri6rCyj

Meeting with a team TWICE, especially when that team already has a QB for this upcoming season, is really significant. What makes it even more of a polarizing situation is how much he raved about the Titans coaching staff. In particular, quarterbacks coach Pat O’ Hara.

This screams the Titans have legitimate interest, something I wouldn’t have typed when the grind of the pre draft process started.
This also would tell us how the Titans front office REALLY feels about Marcus Mariota. Mariota is playing on his 5th year option on his current rookie deal and needs a big season to convince this franchise he’s deserving of a franchise quarterback worthy extension.
I don’t know about you, but man I would love to just focus on my make or break year without having to look over my shoulder.
Time will tell if he will deliver this year.
Time will also tell if Robinson’s interest in Drew Lock is legitimate or a bit of a smokescreen.
Whatever the case may be though, Robinson has a big decision on his hands.
Tick tock Jon Robinson, tick tock.
