If you’re not too familiar with what’s going on with Pokemon these days, the film Detective Pikachu may have caught you off guard. However, this film was announced back in July of 2016.
Don’t feel bad because if you were a Pokemon head back in the day, this film will give you nostalgia with characters such as Mewtwo, Jigglypuff, Lickitung, and etc.
Ryan Reynolds plays as the voice and facial motion capture of Detective Pikachu, which is maybe why this is the first Pokemon film that’s rated G instead of PG.
I kid.
The film is based around a former Pokemon trainer, Tim Goodman, who ends up getting back into the game after discovering telling information pertaining the alleged death of his father Harry Goodman. Also, Pikachu himself happened to be at his father’s old spot when he arrived.
From that point on, Tim and Pikachu become partners and only Tim can understand what Pikachu is saying.
Throughout majority of the film, they’re based in Ryme City, which is a place designed for humans and Pokemon to interact and live together on a daily basis. It’s ran by Howard Clifford.
Tim and Pikachu must find out what happened to Harry before it’s too late.
