Jay Z’s Roc Nation company has been epic over the years as a record label but also ventured into sports management. One athlete who is taking issue with Hov and Roc Nation is Daniel Franco. Franco used to be on the roster but left after severe injuries and is now suing the company.
According to TMZ Sports, Franco is blaming Jay Z and Roc Nation for the brain damages he suffered. He was forced to fight three fights in 79 days. The first came on March 23, 2017 where he was forced to fight despite dealing with the flu. He lost in the third round and was then forced to box on May 12. Franco did win that fight by knockout but again, was forced to return quickly to the ring on June 10. He lost by knockout then.
Franco says he was never cleared medically for the June 10 fight and he could’ve lost his life. Court documents state that Franco had two brain fractures and his brain was bleeding after that fight. He also claims he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and went into a coma. He woke up two weeks later but has severe neurological and cognitive issues.
Franco now has to wear a helmet constantly to protect his brain. As of now, he is seeking unspecified damages. Flip the pages for Franco in 2017 discussing the brain injuries from his three fights.
