After surprisingly letting 2 assistants go, 1 who has a deep connection with stars James Harden and Chris Paul, the Rockets seem to have a target to replace one of those spots.
The particular name? None other than ex-Cavs head coach Ty Lue.
Wait Ty Lue?

Yes, Ty Lue is being targeted by Mike D’antoni to fill one of the 2 assistant coach spots on the Rockets’ coaching staff.
Also by Alvin Gentry and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Yes, um, huh? I mean get it, Lue is a championship winning coach who has the deep respect of LeBron James. Still though, it’s a bit weird to hear of him connected to any type of assistant job. He was just in the middle of a contract negotiation media disaster with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Not his fault in any type of way.
You know the stories that make you scratch your head for a bit? This one is included in that group.
We’ll see if this materializes into anything, but if so, it’d be a bit random if you ask me.
