The Lakers have been a complete mess since the 2013 season and it looks like there’s no end in sight. The Clippers, on the other hand, have shown progress over the last five years but have not been able to get over their playoff woes. The end of the Clippers’ season in 2018-19 showed promise though as they fell in six games to the Warriors in six games. The Clippers now look like a hot free agent destination with them possibly landing Kawhi Leonard this summer.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is feeling really optimistic about the Clippers as well. Speaking to TMZ Sports, he went as far as saying that LA is a Clippers town now despite him being a Lakers fan. He also said the Lakers are going through it right now and need a new head coach that will be in LA for over a decade.
Historically, LA is nowhere near a Clippers town. Right now though, I agree with Mayor Garcetti. Flip the page to check out his thoughts on the Clippers and Lakers, courtesy of TMZ Sports.
