James Harden got hit hard by Draymond Green accidentally in the first quarter of the Rockets’ 115-109 Game 2 loss to the Warriors on the road and it resulted in a laceration above his eye. He was taken into the locker room and returned in the second quarter. He finished the game with 29 points on 9/19 shooting, seven rebounds, and four assists.
According to ESPN, Harden is still struggling with his vision. His eyes are sensitive to light and that was the case while he was on the floor over the course of the game. Harden said they’re still blurry but is hoping they get better day by day.
When Harden was meeting with Houston’s training staff, Green went over to apologize. He wanted to check on him and make sure his injury wasn’t severe.
“I made a mistake and hit him in his eye,” Green said. “Just [wanted] to check on him. It’s not about hurting anybody out here. So many times, people forget that when a guy [has] an injury, you live with that every day, every second of every day. It’s not just about this game.”
Harden took eye drops during the game to help improve his vision but didn’t do much. Flip the page for video of the incident along with Twitter reactions to Harden’s eye injuries.
