The Browns are expected to be an AFC North contender with the addition of Odell Beckham Jr to their offense along with Kareem Hunt. One wide receiver who had a very unusual road to make the team with Cleveland is Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi.
According to Cleveland.com, Sheehy-Guiseppi had to lie about knowing Browns’ VP of Player Personnel, Alonzo Highsmith. Sheehy-Guiseppi originally found the address of the Browns workout and when he got there, he was asked about his relationship with Highsmith. When Sheehy-Guiseppi ran into Highsmith, the two clicked and they looked like they’ve been friends for a while.
Sheehy-Guiseppi went on to have an impressive workout and it resulted in a contract last month. It’s unknown how much of a role that he will have as far as playing time at WR but can also be used for kick returns. Hopefully, he does well because this was a hell of a journey to an NFL roster spot.
