Free agency is set to kick off in a few hours. With about 40% of the guys in the league being free agents, there have been lots of rumors and speculation on where everyone will sign or take meetings with. There have apparently been a few handshake agreements already so here is a breakdown of everything we know so far.
- Kevin Durant – will take meetings with the Knicks, Nets, Clippers and Warriors.
- Kawhi Leonard- will take meetings with the Lakers, Raptors, and Clippers.
- Kyrie Irving – expected to sign a 4 year $141 million deal with the Nets.
- Kemba Walker – expected to sign a 4 year $141 million deal with the Celtics
- Jimmy Butler – expected to take meetings with the Sixers, Heat, and Rockets. Clippers have shown interest also.
- D’Angelo Russell – expected to meet with the Lakers, Wolves, and possibly Suns. Could be more teams to follow once bigger free agents sign.
- Kris Middleton – expected to sign a 5 year $190 million contract with the Bucks.
- Klay Thompson – expected to sign a 5 year $190 million contract with the Warriors.
- Derrick Rose – expected to sign a 2 year deal with the Pistons.
- Julius Randle – has interest from the Knicks, Nets, Bulls, and Kings.
- Tobias Harris – has interest from the Sixers, Nets, and Mavericks. Others could show interest if they strike out on bigger free agents.
- Al Horford – opted out with Boston and expected to sign a 4 year $100+ million contract. Team is unknown.
- Darren Collison – Retired
- Nikola Mirotic – Left the NBA for Euroleague.
- Demarcus Cousins – Not much has been said on him. Knicks have shown interest. Will likely be a backup plan for a team.
- Patrick Beverly – has gotten interest from the Lakers, Mavericks, Bulls, Clippers, and Kings.
- Harrison Barnes – expected to sign a 4 year $90 million contract with the Kings.
- Terry Rozier – has gotten interest from the Knicks and Hornets. Was recently renounced making him an unrestricted free agent so will likely gather more interest soon.
- Nikola Vucevic – expected to a sign a 4 year $100 million contract with the Magic.
- Kristaps Porzingis – expected To to sign a 5 year $158 million contract with the Mavericks.
We’re in for a wild off season with the potential for a lot of movement. A lot of teams can look completely different when everything is settled.
