The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) celebrated the 32nd annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards Thursday night in Beverly Hills.
With a star-studded crowd in attendance, songwriters, and publishers of the most-performed ASCAP songs of the past year were recognized for the contributions this year to music. In addition, T.I. was awarded the ASCAP “Voice of the Culture” award for his influence on music and culture while Cardi B took home the ASCAP “Songwriter of the Year Award.”
Before making their way into the event, BSO caught up with Kehlani, Saweetie, Angela Rye, Tank, Rotimi, Neyo, Mona Scott-Young and more to discuss the culture, songwriters and the importance of always recognizing those who work behind the scenes.
