Details On The Clippers Master Plan To Sign Jimmy Butler If Kawhi Leonard Joins Them In Free Agency (Video)

The NBA free agency rumors continue to swirl as the free agency period begins on Sunday June 30th.

The top prize in this year’s free agency class is Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard is coming off a spectacular season with the Toronto Raptors as he led them to this year’s NBA championship.

The two-time NBA champion is being wooed by several teams including the Raptors, Lakers, Clippers, and Knicks.

After Leonard’s dominant playoffs performance the Raptors would love to keep him, and they have the most money to offer.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been putting on the full court press to land Leonard and Leonard, who is a southern California native, may be ready to come home.

If Leonard does want to play for the Clippers, he reportedly wants to be paired with a top-tier free agent.

This according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.

The Clippers reportedly are exploring the possibility of signing Jimmy Butler to join Leonard, if Leonard leaves for them in free agency.

The pairing of Butler and Leonard would be a formidable one and give the Clippers the star power needed to compete with Staples Center roommate, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Things are sure to remain fluid as free agency approaches.

Stay tuned.
