Buckle up for this one folks.
After Chiefs star WR Tyreek Hill and his fiancee were found to not have abused their son, Hill is scheduled to meet with the NFL this week regarding the incident.
However, the fact the NFL is expected to meet with Hill this week is an indication a ruling from the league could be on the horizon. Hill is expected to be joined by his legal team for the meeting, and it could set the stage for him to potentially be ready to suit up for training camp, which starts in late July.
In March of 2019, KCTV reported that Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal, were named in a police report. Citing that they were suspected of abusing their child, which had a broken arm.
Nothing came of that though, as the case was closed three days later by Kansas City police.
Around a month later, KCTV released potential bombshell information. An audio tape where it seems Hill and his fiancee were arguing on how their son broke his arm.
The Chiefs immediately suspended Hill from team activities and Kansas City police re-opened the case.
However, this month, the case was dropped. The district attorney over the case s aid he believed a crime was committed, but he didn’t know who to charge.
Hill could still be punished by the NFL under its Personal Conduct policy.
The NFL has yet to rule in the case regarding potential discipline, but has proven in past cases that a player doesn’t need criminal charges brought against him to invoke discipline.
