NBA free agency starts on June 30 and the speculation and rumors continue to heat up. D’Angelo Russell had a huge year for the Nets as he made his first all-star appearance and took them to the playoffs. He seems to love Brooklyn now but there’s still the possibility that he could leave with him going back to the Lakers and joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Karl Anthony-Towns recently weighted in on DLo with Complex and discussed the possibility of him coming to Minnesota to play with him and Andrew Wiggins. He said he’d be very open to Russell coming and that he and Russell would make the game so much more fun.
“We got work to do for that to happen,” said Towns. “Regardless if he’s in or not, we gotta find ways to win. There’s great talent in free agency and the draft, and we don’t have much time to mess up. We have to get now.
Russell to Minnesota would be a very solid move. The talent that they would have in Russell, Towns, Jeff Teague, Andrew Wiggins, Taj Gibson, and Robert Covington could be enough to get back to the playoffs in a Western Conference that is sure to be wide open in 2019-20 with the Warriors being injured.
