It looks like Magic Johnson may be the key to getting Kawhi Leonard to the Lakers.
Sources have told ESPN that Kawhi’s camp has personally requested that Magic and Lakers team owner Jeanie Buss be the only ones present when the Lakers make their pitch to the Raptors star.
It makes sense to have Magic in the room, seeing that he did help with getting LeBron to Los Angeles and tried to trade for Anthony Davis during the season.
Per Ramona Shelburne, NBA rules do not permit him to be part of official team meetings with prospective free agents, although Magic has stated that he will try everything he can to help the Lakers in free agency.
The Lakers have become a popular destination for Kawhi over the last couple of days, after many experts believed that Kawhi would either return to the Raptors or join up with the Clippers.
For Lakers fans, here’s hoping that Magic is able to help convince Kawhi to join up with LeBron and AD.
