The Warriors suffered a tough Game 6 loss in their last game ever at Oracle Arena in the NBA Finals last night as the Raptors took home their first championship. The injury bug continued to bite Golden State as Klay Thompson tore his ACL a game after Kevin Durant had ruptured his Achilles.
The big questions now for the Warriors are KD and Thompson’s free agency plans. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on First Take that the team plans to offer both of them five-year max deals. Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle added that Thompson’s dad, Mychal, said that there’s “no question” that he will re-sign with the Warriors.
Thompson isn’t expected to play until at least February or March of 2020. It’ll be interesting to see what other teams try to go after him despite the brutal ACL injury. Flip the page for more info on KD and Klay Thompson’s free agency.
