Nick Nurse on Whether the Raptors Would Accept Trump’s Invite to the White House or Boycott Like the Warriors; See Trump’s Response (Tweet-Vids)

Nick Nurse seems more excited to meet the Prime Minister than Trump.

The Raptors head coach says he’s definitely looking forward to celebrating their NBA championship with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, when he was asked about possibly visiting Donald Trump at the White House? That’s still to be determined.

It’s uncharted territory for the Raptors representing Canada, considering this is their first title in franchise history. Many have wondered if the team would get an invite to party at the White House, per TMZ.

Nurse addressed the possibility with Prime Time Sports on SportsNet 590, saying that the team hasn’t gotten a call from the White House yet; and even if they do get an invite, Nurse is unsure if they will go or not. The Warriors famously boycotted Trump’s invite to the White House, choosing to visit with Obama instead.

But, as for meeting the top guy in Canada? Nurse says plans are already in the works.

“Definitely the Trudeau meeting, because they have been asking me about scheduling it,” Nurse said. “I’ve heard nothing from the White House. We’re Canada’s team anyway, right?”

Nurse continued: “I think we’re here. Let’s go see Trudeau up in Ottawa … we’re Canada’s team.”

Oddly enough, Trudeau was meeting with Trump Thursday. Trump was asked about the possibility of the Raptors visiting the White House. In Trump fashion, he didn’t give a specific answer, but was open to the idea.
