Recently, the Rockets revealed that their entire roster would be open for trades but people didn’t think that James Harden or Chris Paul would be on the table. This is after they lost to the Warriors again in the playoffs, with this time being in six games in the Western Conference semi-finals. This was without Kevin Durant playing in games five and six as well so it came as a shocker that Houston couldn’t finally get over the hump against Golden State.
Rockets GM Daryl Morey took to Instagram to stop the speculation and interacted with fans about the futures of Harden and CP3. When they asked to confirm that both are staying in Houston, Morey simply said “confirmed.” Harden is a top three player in the NBA and could possibly win back to back MVP awards this month so trading him makes no sense. Paul has a ridiculously huge contract that teams just don’t want to take on either so they’d have trouble trading him.
