We have to admit… the Irishman has it all figured out. It’s been 3 years (Nov. 2016) since we’ve seen “The Notorious” grab the microphone to celebrate a win inside the Octagon, and a large majority of MMA enthusiasts had this evening’s events circled on the calendar for quite some time.
Before Conor Mcgregor stepped in the ring to face Khabib Nurmagamedov there was the ever so infamous bus attack. Which featured a Conor Mcgregor overtaken by mob mentality trying to do everything in his power to get access the Dagestani wrestler that had disrespected Mcgregor’s good mate (Artem Lobov) not long before.
Before that, we remember the infamous “footage” the carefully placed snippets from an underground sparring session between Conor Mcgregor and Paulie Malignaggi. Footage that had MMA fans beginning to believe that their shining star could come in and demolish what looked like the final flame in the fire that was professional boxing – Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
Now tonight, Bare Knuckle FC. A Promotion too hardcore for the large majority of fight fans out there was pitting Conor’s close friend against an enemy that’s been looking for redemption ever since the sparring session that went terribly wrong. Tonight’s decision went in favor of the Irishman, but it’s safe to say we haven’t heard the last of these two camps. Conor needs a win in the worst way before he just becomes the sideshow, hopefully, Artem Lobov set him and his team on the right path.
Flip the page for highlights of the fight. Paulie said he was only hit once.
