Miami Dolphins’ 7th round pick, defensive lineman Kendrick Norton, was in a horrific car accident on the 4th of July, the accident led to Kendrick Norton losing his arm by amputation. As if things couldn’t get worse for Norton police have cited him for causing the accident by doing an improper lane change.
TMZ Sports was able to obtain the police report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident happened at 1:18 AM, Norton and a female passenger were driving a 2017 F-250. Cops say all signs point to Norton making a bad driving decision causing the accident. Norton was exiting the highway on the Northbound exit ramp and out of nowhere made a last second decision to switch to the Southbound exit ramp. Kendrick Norton’s vehicle sideswiped a 2015 Maserati which sent Norton’s truck into a concrete barrier and later causing his truck to flip over and land on its roof. Police say it appeared that no one was injured in the other car.
Norton will be issued a citation for improper lane change and will probably be charged for $15,000 worth of damage to the concrete barrier. This is nothing in comparison to the trauma of losing an arm though. If you are looking for any positives in this story, Kendrick will be covered by the NFL and Miami Dolphin’s insurance policies. Kendrick Norton’s family has also set up a GoFundMe.
