Zion Williamson has been the talk of the NBA since his freshman year at Duke. He’s also what the Pelicans need to finally pack out the Smoothie King Center after getting drafted first overall by them in the draft last month. The question for Zion now is who will get the luxury of locking in a shoe deal with him.
Nike, adidas, and Puma have been some of the first names to come to mind. Especially Nike considering the amount of times he wore them this past season at Duke. Many remember most when his Nike’s blew out on him in the team’s loss to North Carolina. According to TMZ Sports, Nike is in the lead to get Zion.
Nike has prioritized Zion for months now and is making a push to get a deal done. Puma can’t be ruled out though as they’re still definitely in the mix to get Zion as well. In Summer League, he was seen wearing a pair of Puma RS-0 “Video Game” shoes.
Either way, Nike and Puma will be backing up the Brink’s truck for Zion. He’s gonna get millions of dollars in his shoe deal and this won’t be the only endorsement deal he gets. Many more should be on the way soon.
