Master P, for the most part, has always done things on his own. From taking a $10,000 settlement check and turning it into a record label to many other business ventures. Master P, who is as independent as any artist, wants to take that independence to Hollywood.
During his recent Breakfast Club interview, Master P explained why it was necessary for black creatives to own their content by using thee movie Black Panther and how it didn’t do anything for the culture.
“You got to realize why it’s so important, When we do a project like Black Panther, we didn’t benefit off that man. Like black people was in the movie and we were happy and excited, but it wasn’t us.”
Master P is practicing what he preaches with his upcoming movie I Got The Hookup 2. He understands that it’s a process and this is just the start.
