The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team beat the Netherlands 2-0 last weekend to win their second straight World Cup and their fourth overall. Star Midfielder Megan Rapinoe recently said that she wouldn’t go to the White House to see Donald Trump and she recently appeared on CNN to discuss that.
Rapinoe’s message to Trump was that he’s including her, people that look like her, and people of color. She added that his Make America Great Again slogan glorifies the era in America in the 1900s where bigotry was at its strongest point. Rapinoe says that America isn’t great now for many people as well.
Rapinoe went on to say that Trump needs to do better of taking care of everyone in America and not just his supporters. She and her USA teammates still don’t plan to visit Trump but do want to go to Washington to see Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and more. Rapinoe is speaking all facts here. Trump is all about white supremacy and is the epitome of racism, sexism, homophobia, islamophobia, and xenophobia. Rapinoe’s sexual orientation is lesbian so she is affected by Trump’s bigotry as well.
