It’s almost time.
With the league slated to start playing the week after the Super Bowl 54 (February 2020), things are starting to come into focus. Eight cities where the inaugural teams reside (Seattle, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Houston, Dallas, Tampa, Washington D.C., and New York) are participating in “Summer Showcases” or scouting combines with league invited players. Invited players comprised of former AAF players and some familiar ex-NFLers. Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is on the league’s radar but has not been invited to any showcases.
This next month will see the League start to sign players as well as the unveiling of team names and logos. The league will then target the final NFL training camp cuts before having its draft in October
XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck stated:
“We’re still a long way from a football game but we are starting to see more of what we are trying to do,”
Starting this February the XFL will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, FOX, FS1
