D.J. Cooper had a surprising result when he took a drug test for the FIBA.
The former Ohio basketball star failed the drug test but not for drugs. It was because his results came back that he had human chorionic gonadotropin which is a hormone in your placenta during pregnancy. Yes – his results said he was pregnant.
How is this possible? Well it wasn’t his urine.
It’s not doping but it is a case of fraud. The FIBA handed him a two-year suspension in 2018 so he will be eligible to play next year.
Cooper went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft and played overseas. He recently played for Monaco of the LNB Pro A and took a break from the team for “family reasons” after the 2017-18 season.
There was a massive plot twist ending.
