Details on Ex-MLB Pitcher Octavio Dotel Arrested and 3 Time All-Star Luis Castillo on The Run After Being Link to Biggest Drug Cartel in Dominican Republic (Court Docs-Video)

Former MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel and 3 time All Star infielder Luis Castillo have been identified as members of a powerful drug gang. Dotel was arrested in Santo Domingo and Castillo was cited.

Police are also actively pursuing the alleged leader of the ring, Cesar Emilio Peralta, also known as “Cesar the Abuser.” A number of other athletes are also tied to the investigation. Police also seized luxury apartments, night clubs and restaurants.

Two former New York Mets players have been accused of drugs trafficking and money laundering, in a take-down billed the ‘largest operation against organized crime’ to ever occur in the Dominican Republic.

Authorities said Tuesday that Octavio Dotel, 45, and Luis Castillo, 43, belonged to a powerful gang that used approximately 20 luxury apartments, 10 restaurants and 15 nightclubs where women trafficked from Colombia and Venezuela worked under drugs kingpin Cesar Emilio Peralta.

Investigators believe a significant portion of the crimes related to narcotics took place inside the Santa Domingo nightlife venues owned by Peralta and named as VIP Room, Flow Gallery Lounge, Aqua Club, and La Kuora.

I’m sure other Dominican ball players will think twice about going home. First it was David Ortiz and now this.
