Nike recently gave Giannis Antetokounmpo a signature shoe and line with “Freak” on the clothes but he’s been known as the Greek Freak since he entered the NBA. So it makes sense that Giannis wants to be the only one to use and get paid from the name Greek Freak.
According to The Blast, Giannis is suing a company called Viral Style that has been selling merchandise with Greek Freak on it.
Giannis’ lawyers sent the company a cease and desist notice but they didn’t respond or cooperate by providing the proper and truthful profits.
The company has been using “Greek Freak” and “Greek Fr34k” on their merchandise which violates Giannis’ trademark name.
Since they didn’t stop, Giannis is seeking up to $2,000,000 per counterfeit mark per type of goods sold.
