R. Kelly is dealing with sex charges in his home state of Illinois, Minnesota, and in New York as well. The NY case is currently being handled as racketeering is also involved. Evidence now such as flight records, birth certificates of women, hotel charges, bank records, medical records, and more are being used to try to charge him for sex trafficking, according to TMZ.
In addition to these records, prosecutors are also using Uber charges, photos and texts. As far as the hotels goes, records have been revealed for Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut and Planet Hollywood resort in Las Vegas. Prosecutors are viewing Kelly has having violated the Mann Act which is a crime to transport people across state lines for illicit sexual purposes. As of now, Kelly is still locked up in Illinois with no bond.
In addition to these sex trafficking charges, Kelly is also being accused of giving his victims STDs over the past two decades, according to Bossip. A letter was sent on August 15 to his lawyers saying that Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Geddes had Kelly’s health and medical records from Walgreens, University Health Systems and Urgent Care. Kelly supposedly knew he had infected at least one woman.
Kelly should end up going to prison for a very long time. Too much evidence is presented against him in three states. He’s gotten away with these kind of charges since the 90s but now it looks like he will finally be brought to justice. It all started after Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” Docuseries aired in January.
