Marijuana and other types of drugs are smuggled in so many different ways now, whether it’s in food or other forms of shipments. $2.3 million worth of marijuana was found in shipments of jalapeño peppers found at the U.S. San Diego port of entry, according to News Maven.
A tractor with a trailer that had the drugs in it was pulled over by police at the border to be inspected and that’s when the whopping discovery was made inside the jalapeños. K-9 teams were initially brought on to take a look inside the cargo and found a “substance that resembled marijuana which tested positive for the same properties of cannabis.” Exact amount of marijuana found were four tons. 314 wrapped packages were discovered in total as well.
The driver was a a 37-year-old Mexican man as the vehicle ended up being seized. It’s unclear what he’s been charged with as of now.
