There is no rivalry between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
Williams defeated Sharapova for the 19th consecutive time on Monday during the first round of the U.S. Open.
Williams dispatched Sharapova in all of 59 minutes, 6-1, 6-1 en route to a dominant performance.
Serena’s performance wasn’t the only thing that caught social media’s attention Monday night.
Williams’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, took his petty to the next level in support of his wife by wearing a D.A.R.E. t-shirt during the match.
This, of course, is a clear dragging of Williams’s opponent, Sharapova, who was infamously suspended for 15 months after testing positive for a banned substance.
Twitter took notice of Ohanian’s petty and was clearly here for it.
