Usher Has Been “Bitten” by the Boxing Bug; Details on How He Wants to Become the Next Al Haymon (Video)

Usher made his career in music but it looks like the 40-year singing legend is considering a new career.

TMZ Sports caught up with Usher at Ryan Garcia’s pre fight event.  Usher is supporting Garcia’s opponent, Avery Sparrow, who Usher calls family.  Apparently Usher is a big boxing fan and thinks Sparrow has what it takes to beat the undefeated Garcia.

TMZ asked if Usher was getting into the boxing promotion world, Usher responded:

“I’m obviously here for a reason,” Usher says … “Who knows? I may be bitten by the bug.”

Usher’s love for the sport probably grew when he played Sugar Ray Leonard in the movie “Hands of Stone” in 2016 and spending time with Avery Sparrow and his boxing family.  The musician also says he is inspired by Al Haymon, manager of Floyd Mayweather and Jay-Z who is starting to build his own sports empire with Roc Nation Sports.  Usher told TMZ he might just follow in their footsteps in a new career move.

Usher isn’t new to the sports world, he is a minority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and looking for his next move.
