When did looking at someone become a crime? Well the Royal Oak Police take starring seriously, especially when you’re a black man.
Tuesday evening, Royal Oak Police confronted a 20-year old Devin Myers who was walking to Inn Season Cafe on Fourth Street. Police were responding to a call from a white woman claiming Myers “looked suspiciously” at her.
A bystander, Kimiko Adolph, saw what was happening and began recording Myers and the two officers. She also says on the video that the woman who called was in a white car parked in front of CVS across the street.
“Royal Oak – don’t be black,” said the bystander.
Watch the bystander Adolph bash the officers for stopping the man on the next page.
