It looks like Blake Griffin may have a second career in comedy after his NBA career is over.
The Pistons star has been trying his hand at comedy lately, and it looks like things are working out fine, according to the 97.1 Ticket.
The stunt promoted his standup comedy show in the city back in July at the Just for Laughs Festival. The festival is hosted by Griffin which raises money for the Team Griffin Foundation.
The Detroit Pistons’ power forward tested out his comedy. “I used to hate facial hair, but then it kinda grew on me,” he deadpanned to a puzzled rider.
He provided a lesson to the locals on Americana. “Can I play you guys one of my favorite songs,” asked Griffin in response to an eye roll from a rider that didn’t hold back her disdain for Americans. The Star-Spangled Banner track blaring on the car’s speakers served as Blake’s clapback.
Griffin’s local culinary guide skills shone with the recommendation of McDonalds and Subway. “… some of the inside spots if you’re from Montreal,” he dryly added.
Only a few of the riders caught on that the NBA star was an undercover cab driver.
This would be pretty cool if other NBA players did this, just to see how many casual fans and/or regular people can identify them in a normal, everyday situation.
