The story leading up to the Monday Night Football showdown between the New Orleans Saints and the visiting Houston Texans centered largely around the now infamous no-call that lead to the Rams representing the NFC in last year’s Superbowl.
Its no surprise with the amount of attention given to NFC Championship fiasco that the New Orleans players have been unable to wash away the bitter taste of having a Superbowl birth snatched away in their own building.
While the wounds may not have fully healed there are some who feel its time for the New Orleans Saints to turn the page and focus on the 2019 season. One of those people just so happens to be part benefactor of the blown call, Aqib Talib.
When asked how he felt about the no-call ahead of the two teams meeting this Sunday for the first time since the NFC title game Aqib Talib had this to say,
That’s a New Orleans problem, its not an LA problem.”
It seems Aqib Talib is both right and wrong, the New Orleans Saints would best serve themselves by looking forward to the future however, the NFL’s reaction to the missed call does punch holes in Aqib Talib’s forget about it approach.
In June the competition committee made recommendations for instant replay expansion into Pass interference calls called or uncalled for this season only with plans to make it a permanent fixture.
Flip through the pages to see reactions to Aqib Talib’s quote on the New Orleans needing to get over it.
