Coming after news that the NFL will meet with Britney Taylor on Monday regarding the allegations levied against Antonio Brown, ESPN reports a $2 million proposed settlement was refused by Antonio Brown.
The deadline to sign the agreement lapsed last Sunday prompting lawyers for Britney Taylor to proceed with filing a civil lawsuit with the District of Florida.
Antonio Brown declined to sign a $2 million-plus agreement with Britney Taylor to settle a sexual assault allegation made by the wide receiver’s former trainer, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.
Brown had a deadline last Sunday night to sign the settlement agreement before Taylor’s attorneys sought to file their civil lawsuit against him. After Brown didn’t sign off on the settlement, the suit was filed Tuesday.
Antonio Brown is currently active on the Patriots roster and did travel to Miami with the team. The NFL has elected not to take action against Antonio Brown absent criminal charges or testimony from his accuser.
Lawyers for Antonio Brown maintain that their client participated in a “consensual personal relationship.”
