Dwight Howard has a new lease on his basketball life.
Howard has joined a Los Angeles Lakers team that is expected to compete at the top of the Western Conference this season.
The former Washington Wizard spent one failed season with the Lakers back during the 2012-13 season, but now has reunited with the franchise and is seen as an integral part to their championship chase.
Howard sat down with The Athletic’s Shams Charania to discuss his reunion with the team and why this time things will be different.
Howard telling Charania the reason his first stint in Los Angeles failed,
“I just think there were two big problems, injuries and ego. What would I have done different? I would say wait until I was healthy…At times, I think wanting to be selfish cost everybody on the team.”
It appears that Howard is saying all the right things, probably because he is on a very tight leash with the Lakers.
The team has made it clear of what they expect from Howard and by all accounts it appears Howard is ready to deliver.
