Back in June, Cuba Gooding Jr was at a Manhattan bar where he is accused of being groped by a woman. He constantly denied being guilty and debated about turning himself in. Gooding eventually did that entered a not guilty plea of forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree.
Gooding is now facing one year in prison for these charges as he recently appeared in court in New York City, according to The Jasmine Brand. A trial was supposed to take place today but a judge postponed it. Deputy District Attorney Jenna Long and the D.A.’s office announced the delay due to to insufficient amounts of evidence.
Gooding’s next court date is supposed to be set for October 10. He filed a request for the case to be thrown out but that was denied. Gooding’s attorney, Mark Heller, believes that the only reason for his arrest and being prosecuted is because he’s a celebrity.
