The regular season is just about a month away from commencing and preseason is right around the corner. Do you hear the squeaks of the sneakers on the court? Ready to make your way down to MSG? One thing’s for sure – Kevin Knox is ready and something has fueled him, as well as the team.
Positivity is key when one chooses to root for a certain team. But when rooting for the Knicks, you must make sure to have a thick skin and fire back at those responses because people are locked and loaded with insults. A new season is among us. What’s going to fuel your upcoming season?
With a few new faces joining the team and along with a fairly new coach in play, it’s easy to wonder how the Knicks will do this season. We will have a preview but for now, Kevin Knox shared what will fuel him.
“Of course, the Nets got two big superstars this summer, but it’s just fuel to the fire for us,” New York forward Kevin Knox said Monday of Brooklyn’s summer splashes, per Ian Begley of SNY.
The Nets pulled a power move by giving away 10,000 Kyrie Irving jerseys for their game against the Knicks. Was it petty, trolling, or all of the above?
“It’s going to be great for us. I don’t think nobody is guaranteed [playing time]—no starting lineups, no minutes, none of that,” Knox said, per Begley. “[Head coach David Fizdale] kind of voiced that in the message he sends us. Everyone has to earn their minutes this year, earn their position.”
He continued: “We’ve got guys now … that’s going to play hard, talk trash all scrimmage long. Even though we’re one big family, smiles and stuff after [the game]. But, in between those lines, it’s a totally different team from last year.”
You can count on that 17-65 record on not returning this season.
