Back in June 2018 a video surfaced of Damon Dash confronting director Lee Daniels over funds loaned in order to get started on the stalled Richard Pryor Biopic.
Today we’ve now learned the outcome of a very murky legal issue involving multiple parties, each feeling they are entitled to the agreed upon settlement.
Lee Daniels will fork over around $1.7 million to get Damon Dash off his back which is a lot less than the $5 million lawsuit originally filed against him.
The full amount totals $1,782.500 and will be dispersed to Dame Dash in installments to be paid in full by Jan. 2021.
Whether or not we will get the Richard Pryor movie that initiated the loan from Damon Dash to Lee Daniels remains to be seen as the project has hit a brick wall in the midst of legal drama and a Lee Daniels on-again off-again status as the director of the film.
Also included in the agreement Damon Dash will forfeit any credits attributed him in the Biopic as well as the rights to any profits from the film.
