The son of Martin Luther King, recently spoke with TMZ Sports about black-balled NFL player Colin Kaepernick continually being shut out of the NFL. King told TMZ,
What would change it overnight is if the public decided, ‘Okay, we’re not going to watch,'” MLK III says.
King thinks that if we as the fans stopped supporting the league and all together stop watching any of the games, the league would get the memo, and make amends to sign Kaepernick.
He did admit he knows the likelihood of that happening is nevertheless, slim but still wants measures taken to get Kap signed.
He continued stating,
“The industry did blackball him, which is not good,” MLK III says … “He certainly is one of the most talented quarterbacks even today, probably.”
To back up his argument, there have been several QB’s injured in the last week including Ben Roethlisberger whose out for the season, who in return the Steelers just signed Paxton Lynch to the practice squad.
Drew Brees, who will be out at least 6 weeks, and Sam Darnold who has mononucleosis. Moreover, Sam Darnold’s backup Trevor Semien had a gruesome ankle injury on Monday night football against the Browns, and he is out for the season as well, so there are teams looking to fill the void, but will they fill it by signing Kaepernick?
I think we all know the answer.
