Two years ago, former Michigan State standout Malik McDowell was a second round selection for the Seattle Seahawks. However, he hasn’t played one down in the NFL.
He was released due to a non-football injury in which he never got clearance, according to the Seahawks. Now, after his incident in February, the idea of him playing in the NFL seems far-fetched.
McDowell was pulled over for a traffic stop in Michigan for speeding and driving recklessly. After refusing to cooperate with the officer, the two ended up brawling inside a gas station. The officer was forced to tase the 6’6, 300 pound lineman, but even that wasn’t enough.
Eventually McDowell was arrested after backup arrived.
McDowell has pleaded guilty to charges of assault and battery, obstructing justice, driving under the influence, and driving with a suspended license.
