Details on Redskins Trying to Go After Mike Tomlin As Head Coach After Firing Jay Gruden; List of Other Candidates

The Washington Redskins are 0-5 and have been a complete disaster this season. As a result, they’ve officially let Jay Gruden go as head coach after almost five seasons with the team.

The Redskins are supposedly eyeing their next head coach right away. According to Ed Werner of ESPN, Washington is looking at Steelers Head Coach Mike Tonlin as their replacement.

Tomlin is the popular name here and the possibility could be there of leaving Pittsburgh after 13 seasons. Pittsburgh is 1-4 right now and has suffered numerous setbacks by losing Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell in the offseason along with Ben Roethlisberger being out for the season with an elbow injury. Backup QB Mason Rudolph also suffered a concussion in their 26-23 OT loss vs their division rival Ravens yesterday.

Tomlin shouldn’t be the scapegoat for the Steelers’ problems but it would be no surprise to sadly see it happen. It’ll be interesting to see if he’d really be interested in the Redskins job. Flip the page for other candidates Washington is looking at.
